Holidays
and carnival in Cochabamba
In
all urban and rural areas of Cochabamba, a wide variety of popular
and traditional celebrations are expressed during the year. These
Andean celebrations are a reproduction from of the cultural identity.
They are the center of social life such as dances, music, rites
and traditons mixed among native remembrances and the devotion
to the Catholic Saints and the Virgin. There are many festivities
where you can appreciate our folklore, some of them are:
- The Concordia Carnival (according to the Carnival)
- Good Friday
- Santa Vera Cruz, May 2d and 4th
- Virgen del Carmen, July 16th
